The Internet is the information juggernaut that runs our everyday lives. Without it, many of us could not function normally because we are so attacked to technology in this day in age that it would be impossible to go without. The Internet can be used for entertainment, communication, and most of all as an information source.
In this new technology era we live in today people want fast and easy ways to be entertained. The Internet is a Digital Library that can provide you with a numerous amount of entertainment, which is only just a click away. It can be used to download songs, watch movies, and even play games. There are many websites that you can go to, to listen to or even download your favorite songs. One of the main ways we obtain music and movies is through downloading the file from the Internet directly onto your computer. There are many companies that allow you to stream videos and movies directly to your computer without the hassle of going to the store to get them. Youtube is one of the main contenders for streaming videos. The one thing about the Internet is that it is a giant network linking all of its users in someway or another. This makes it great for playing each other in computer games and lets u interact without having to leave your home. The Internet is good for entertaining people, but when people need to communicate it becomes a powerful tool to help them communicate with each other.
Every time you go online you are immediately connected to a network of computers that are constantly communicating with each other. This allows people from all over the world to communicate with each other without having to leave the comfort of their home. When you want to talk to a friend you can use different programs online to make it possible to communicate with each other. Programs such as Teamspeak, Ventrilo, and Skype are programs that send your voice through the computer to other people’s computers so you can hear and talk to each other. Other programs allow you to send text messages that your friends receive and respond to. This ability to communicate so quickly has helped society improve and become ever more dependent for communicating digitally. This makes it even easier to connect to people and share ideas and converse. Communication is a big part of how the Internet functions, but the amount of information it contains is truly astounding.
When people want to know something what do they do? They use the Internet to find the information they are looking for and just about everything else. The Internet is an information highway that provides the user with an immense amount of information at their fingertips. To access this information there are certain websites that allow the user to search a word or phrase and then sends the user links to websites that may contain their search. Some of these websites include Google, Yahoo, and Ask.com to just name a few. With this endless wealth of knowledge people are using the Internet as a learning tool to educate and help teach others like never before. This endless amount of information helps stimulate the minds of people and society can greatly benefit to this technological breakthrough. This is why the Internet is beneficial to society, but in the coming years I believe that it will be even more useful and can be used in more ways not yet though possible.
Technology is developing more and more as time goes on. With the speed at which this technology is improving the possibilities for the use of the Internet and its benefit to society is increasing. In the future I believe that the Internet will be used a lot more in everyday life that it is now. People will have instant access to each other and many people will have jobs that involve them to meet with people from different parts of the world at one time in a virtual chat room to do business. The flow of information that we can receive will be endless and we will gain more knowledge. This might lead to virtual world where people can chat and do many things not yet possible with current technology. The Internet just wont be a place for media, but a place for business as well. This is why I think that the Internet is the most beneficial technology to society.
